Girls Flag Football
Roseville is beyond excited to offer the inaugural season of girls' flag football. Girls' flag is sweeping the nation, becoming a high school sport this past spring in Minnesota, and is soon to be an Olympic sport. As a community in Roseville, we aim to offer a unique opportunity for girls in the Roseville area to participate in a competitive travel league within the Suburban East Conference through RAYFA and the MEYFL. Join us in trailblazing the future of flag football for girls!
Ages
This is an all-girls flag football league. Teams will be combined by grade at the following levels: 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th, and 7th & 8th.
When
Seaston Start Date:
Monday, August 4th (practices begin) 2-3 per week for the first 3 weeks. Practices will go down to 1-2 times per week starting the week of 8/25 through the rest of the season
Games begin:
Week of August 25th on Sundays in the afternoon. 8-game season with four home games and four away games. The season will conclude on the Sunday before MEA weekend.
Where
Practices:
Will be held at Roseville Area Middle School. Practice time TBD, but will be evening practices.
Games will be held at RAMS or RAHS stadiums. Away games TBD based on schedule release
Format and more info
This is a competitive league, more so than our in-house co-ed program.
We will hold an evaluation session in the first week, and players will be placed on teams based on the number of sign-ups we receive.
Each flag team can have up to 10 players.
Teams will be broken down individually based on multiple factors. Our goal is to create balanced teams at all three age levels. All players are encouraged to sign up and come to the week one training session.
In the event a player feels they are not comfortable at the travel level, they can opt to play in the in-house program before the season begins and would be refunded accordingly if they chose to do so.
Equipment Needs
Your registration fee covers the following:
- Jersey
- Shorts
- Socks
Players will need to provide their own:
- Mouthguard
- Cleats (no metal spikes, tennis shoes okay, but cleats recommended)
- Gloves or other accessories desired.
Girls Flag Football 2025
This is an all-girls flag football league. Teams will be combined by grade at the following levels: 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th, and 7th & 8th.
Practices will begin the first week of August with 2-3 per week to start. Season games begin the last week of September. The 8-game season will be played with four home games and four away games. This is a travel league that will participate in the MEYFL flag league and compete against other teams from the Suburban East conference.
Games will be played on Sunday afternoons. Once the games begin, practices will be held once a week, depending on the age group and the coaches' schedules.
